A Completed Annual Registration Needed for Orientation
All Richland District Two’s K – 12 students will be required to provide proof-of-residency and updated contact information annually which can be done through Parent Portal. Click on the image to access Parent Portal.
Students living at the same address verified during 2017-2018 must provide one current, original utility bill. All students who have changed addresses since enrolling must provide three current, original utility bills. Verification of Residency will be required before students may pick up schedules and participate in Orientation in August. Call 699-2999 ext. 84217 with any questions.
Parent/Guardians: It is vital that you complete the annual registration process. It is the only way we have accurate contact information should there be an emergency and to make sure you are aware of your child’s attendance and progress in school.

TEDxYouth Application Due TODAY, July 26th
TEDxYouth@Columbia is accepting applications for Team members. Students will do everything from organizing annual conferences and other events to selecting speakers, venues, and planning breaks, as well as work with their network of 50+ schools, 100+ teachers, and 1,000+ students.
Through this program, students develop real-world, professional skills, as well as structured professional development opportunities, and get the chance to work with other passionate students to lead a South Carolina’s only by-youth, for-youth organization that elevates local youth ideas.

ATHLETICS: Free Football Camp Tomorrow, July 26th
Join Coach Perry Parks and his staff for the Blazer For a Day FREE Football Camp on July 26th right here at Ridge View High School. The camp will run from 9 AM - 12PM and lunch is provided by Carolina Ale House. Registration is on a walk up basis and will begin at 8 AM. The first 100 campers receive a free Little P t-shirt!
Ridge View High School is located at 4801 Hard Scrabble Road in Columbia, SC. The football field is directly behind the school.

ACTIVITIES: Orientation
The administration and staff of Ridge View High School are preparing to welcome you back for another great year!! Please mark your calendars now for Orientation. You will be able to get your schedule, pay fees, purchase a parking pass and spirit items, reserve your Yearbook, pick up textbooks and more!
Please note the dates and times below. Annual Registration, which includes proof of residence, must be submitted before Orientation. Students may not be able to pick up their schedule unless it is completed. This can be done through Parent Portal or by submitting your proof of residence to the registrar in the School Counseling Office. If you have any questions, please contact the new Student Activities Director Paige Fennell at pfennell@richland2.org. We can't wait to see you back on campus for the 2018-2019 school year!

Are you taking an honors or advanced placement English course? Have you started reading your summer reading book? Get the OverDrive App for your 2018 Summer Reading (Rising Honors/AP Students) or School-wide Summer Reading! You can read, listen, watch, and enjoy your book using OverDrive. This App provides access to ebooks, audiobooks and videos. To access OverDrive, all you need is your R2 User Name and Password. For more information, check out the RVHS Library Commons website. ATHLETICS: Stackhouse Named Assistant Cross Country Coach
Ridge View Cross Country Alum Michael Stackhouse has been named the assistant Cross Country Coach replacing Sierra Oliphant, who took a full time position at Columbia College as the Director of Student Activities. The Cross Country family would also like to thank Alumni runner Ty’re Ware for filling in during the interim.
Coach Stackhouse is a native from Fayetteville NC, having recently graduated from South Carolina State University with a BS in Child Development, where he was a member of the Honors College and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity in which he most recently served as the Director of Educational Activities.
While at SC State Coach Stackhouse was an integral part of the distance running program, being the lead distance runner during his tenure at the University while also serving as a voice off the track in his capacity as the team’s representative for SAAC (Student Athletic Advisory Committee) as it’s President.
He was the Team Captain his last 2 Years at State and also achieved the following:

Ridge View Graduate & SC Soldier Beats Cancer

Senior Yearbook Portraits This Week, July 10 - 12
Strawbridge Studios will take senior Portraits at Ridge View High School on July 10 - 12 in the cafeteria. The attire for the formal picture will be provided (tux for male students and drape for female students). The formal picture will also serve as the picture for the Ridge View 2018 - 2019 senior ID card. Only photographs taken by Strawbridge Studios will be in the 2018 - 2019 Ridge View Yearbook. There is no cost to take the formal picture.

Strawbridge Studios has agreed to take indoor and outdoor casual portraits during the July photo sessions. The casual portraits are optional, but there are additional charges as shown below.

ACADEMICS: AP Scores will be Released This Week
Click Here to access the AP Score release calendar. Scores will be released based on your physical location at the time of release. For example, if you are in SC, you will receive your scores on July 7, 2018 @ 8am.
If you have not already done so, please create a College Board account with the same email that you used on your answer sheet. You will also need your AP number which is in your student pack. If you cannot locate your AP student number please contact Mr. Ross @ 803.699.2999 or via email @ braross@richland2.org.

ACADEMICS: Scholars Academy Supports Global Pencil Project
The Scholars Academy for Business and Law is pleased to announce our new partnership with the Global Pencil Project (globalpencilproject.org). The organization provides pencils and other school supplies to children in need all over the world to ensure they are able to attend school. Between now and September 1, 2018 please consider buying a pack of pencils or other school supplies to drop off care of Project Chairperson Precious Franks or Scholars Academy Director, Nicole Walker, who will ensure that your donation is sent to a school in need in Uganda.
