Academics: CAT Forensics Lab Field Study

Our sophomore Carolina Alliance for Technology (CAT) students traveled to the Central Piedmont Community College Forensics Lab in Huntersville, NC this past week. The students thoroughly enjoyed the reconstruction of a shooting crime with lasers and photo-spray as well as dusting for fingerprints. They also went to the digital evidence lab, which proved to be very informative. They learned that what they delete from their cell phones can, in fact, be recovered by forensic experts! The students also had the opportunity to label what they thought was important evidence in the various crime scene rooms, saw a foot cast demonstration and visited a mock courtroom. This was another great experience for our students involving hands on learning.
