ACADEMICS: Scholars Sophomores Complete School Redesign Project

The Scholars Academy Magnet for Business and Law sophomores presented their School Redesign ideas to a panel of judges yesterday at R2i2.  Each group proposed an issue that affects schools, did a literature review, focus group interviews, stakeholder interviews and developed a solution based on their findings in conjunction with Mr. O’Neil in the Richland Two Innovations Center.  The Hallway Traffic group took the top prize for potentially redesigning a traffic flow pattern, but everyone agreed each group was well-prepared, persuasive and passionate.  We can’t wait to see what these kids do next.

ARTS: Kudos to Mr. Pagal & His Orchestra Students

L-R: Phoebe Johnson, Jada Mack,
Shia Cyprian, Danielle Banks
On December 14th, 4 of Mr. Pagal's students participated in Breakfast with Santa at an annual Girl Scout fundraiser held at Spring Valley Presbyterian Church.  Mr. Michael Hermann assisted at the event and sent this wonderful message to Dr. Mack-Foxworth, our principal.

In the 7-8 years I have been there this was the first year that we had music. 4 of your RV Orchestra student gave of their time to entertain the children with holiday music.  Their names are Phoebe Johnson, Jada Mack, Shia Cyprian, and Danielle Banks.  I have no idea who your orchestra teacher is but that teacher is doing a great job of preparing their students to perform and they have also obviously instilled in their students a desire to give back to the community.  Bravo to these fine students and their teacher for all that they do.  They are great ambassadors for Ridge View High School.
