Our Blazers excelled on the National Spanish Exam, which is a motivational contest to recognize student achievement in the study of Spanish and to stimulate further interest in the teaching and learning of Spanish. This exam is an online, standardized assessment tool for Grades 6-12. Earning gold indicating that they scored above the 95th percentile were Geraldo Bracete (Level 3), Malika Lightbourne (Level 4), and Jose Armas Reyes (Level 4). Samira Alvarez (Level 4), Erika Jarvis (Level 3), and Javier Delgado (Level 3) earned Silver by scoring from the 85th through the 94th percentiles. Scoring from the 75th through the 84th percentiles earned Bronze recognition for Lahsen Grich (Level 4), Leo Moya (Level 3), and Briea Simmons (Level 4). Earning honors for scoring from the 50th through the 74th percentiles were Mikasia Caree (Level 4), Kiara Myers (Level 3), Kasey Peterson (Level 3), Madeline Ries (Level 3), Makeenie Robinson (Level 3), Sierra Sconzo (Level 3), Miriam Tisdale (Level 3), Ashleigh Tobin (Level 3), and Deon Wallace (Level 3). The 2017 Graduation Ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, June 3rd at 4:00 PM at the Colonial Life Arena. Seniors must arrive at the Loading Dock by 2:45 PM with their PURPLE ticket, cap, gown, tassel, and stole. The Arena will open for guests at 3:30 PM; and they will not need tickets to enter the Arena.
Allow plenty of time for traffic and parking as there will be a ceremony ending when our seniors are arriving. Also there are only certain locations to park. You can view parking and traffic maps by clicking on the image on the left. Maps will also be placed on the school website and sent to your email.
Graduation will start on time, so you don't want to be late. The ceremony will start without you; and you will be placed at the end of the line if you arrive after the ceremony has started.

Superintendent Spearman Recognizes Blazers Entering Military
On May 8th, State Department of Education Superintendent Molly Spearman and other state leaders recognized our students entering branches of the military or going to a military service academy, and provided them with a red, white and blue honor cord to be worn during their graduation ceremony. The following Ridge View students were recognized: Quinton Brown (Marines), Destyne Bryant (Army), Joshua Bryant (Navy), Logan Carder (Air Force), Alijah Creary (National Guard), Sam Grace (Marines), Kaitlyn McCue Cote (Marines), Anye'a Pinnock (National Guard), Megan Reardon (U.S. Naval Academy), Emmani Sims-Davis (National Guard), T'Keya Timmons (Army) and Keimani Williams (Army). AT THE VIEW would also like to recognize Blazers who were unable to attend the ceremony:Marvin Marshall (The Citadel), Jordan Moton (Army), Autervious Randle (Army), and Kaiden Rice (The Citadel).
Senior Assembly Next Week
Senior Assembly is Friday, May 26th from 9:00 - 10:45 AM in the gymnasium. It is mandatory for all graduating seniors to participate in the Senior Assembly if they want to participate in the graduation ceremony on June 3rd.
Seniors must report to the Small Gym by 7:30 AM for practice. Seniors must dress appropriately and follow the Richland 2 Dress Code policy. Females must also wear a dress, skirt, or dress pants. The males must wear dress slacks, a button down shirt, a tie, and dress shoes.
In your honor and while they are preparing for the assembly, we are having a Senior Parent Breakfast in the Multipurpose Room at 8:00 AM. You will be escorted to the gymnasium from the Parent Breakfast at the appropriate time.

Graduation Dress Attire
Seniors must dress appropriately for the graduation ceremony. Females must wear a dress, skirt, or dress pants in a solid color, dress shoes with a strap around the heel, and a hairstyle that allows them to wear their cap. They should also wear a modest heel so that they will not trip or fall on the ramps. Both ramps are very steep and difficult to walk down without assistance. Males must wear a shirt (preferably white) with a collar, tie, long dress slacks, and dress shoes with dress slacks.
All seniors mus pay attention to the following:
- NO jewelry on or outside the graduation gown (other than earrings).
- NO purses, stuffed animals, balloons, signs, food, or drinks in the Arena.
- NO designs or bedazzled caps and gowns.
- NO unofficial honor cords or stoles other than those from Ridge View High School.
