ATHLETICS: Coach Eure, Track & Field Coach of the Year

The South Carolina Track and Cross Country Association (SCTCCA) has chosen its Track and Field Coaches of the Year, and Ridge View’s Warren Eure has earned the AAAA Coach of the Year honors for Girls Track.   

He was also selected as the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association Girls Track and Field Coach of the Year!  Coach Eure led his girls to the 2018 AAAA State Championship, the first for that program since 1998.

This is a huge honor as Coach Eure was selected as the Coach of the Year across all five classifications.  SCACA’s mission is to promote, protect, and teach the student athletes of South Carolina through effective leadership and professional development of coaches.  He will be honored at the SCTCCCA Summer Business Meeting this summer. 

Congratulations Coach Eure on this extremely well-deserved honor!

ACADEMICS: Scholars Academy Supports Global Pencil Project

The Scholars Academy for Business and Law is pleased to announce our new partnership with the Global Pencil Project (globalpencilproject.org).  The organization provides pencils and other school supplies to children in need all over the world to ensure they are able to attend school.  Between now and September 1, 2018 please consider buying a pack of pencils or other school supplies to drop off care of Project Chairperson Precious Franks or Scholars Academy Director, Nicole Walker, who will ensure that your donation is sent to a school in need in Uganda.  For more information, check out their website or email Mrs. Walker (nwalker@richland2.org).

ACADEMICS: Scholars Seniors Complete AP Capstone

Congratulations to the 2018 graduating class of the Scholars Academy Magnet for Business and Law, who are the first students in Richland Two to complete the College Board AP Capstone process, which consists of AP Seminar and AP Research. The courses are designed to engage students in methodologies for independent research and help build writing and communication skills. We are very proud of all these students have accomplished.

Graduation Picture Packages Available

Yes, you can get a picture of your student walking across the stage during the graduation ceremony.  A Strawbridge photographer will take pictures at the Ridge View Commencement ceremony of each graduate as they walk off the stage.  Pictures can be purchased pictures online at www.strawbridge.net.  Please enter code 103822 after you access the website.
