ACADEMICS: Weekly Monday Google Meets with MTC Admissions

If you are still undecided about your plans after graduation, please join our Career Specialists and Ms. Watts, a Midlands Tech Admissions Representative every Monday at 11:00 AM in a Google Meet. Ms. Watts will answer any questions, provide information on how MTC is accommodating for COVID, and usually has an application fee code waiver.  If you are interested in attending one or more virtual meetings, please email  Mrs. VanZyl at hvanzyl@richland2.org for an invitation to the Google Meet.

ACADEMICS: Richland 2 Virtual School Deadlines

Deadlines
Seniors: May 14th
Underclassmen: May 20th

Please make sure you complete your assignments by the deadlines listed above. The system will shut down at midnight on these dates. You will be unable to access your Richland 2 Virtual courses after the deadline. Final grades will be given based on all work submitted and tests taken at that point.

All passwords have been removed from the tests so that you can access them from home. If you are having difficulty, contact Coach Iglesias (jiglesias@richland2.org).

Educational Scholarship Program

Award: Subject to availability of funds, up to $500 may be awarded for the school year

Eligibility Requirements
  • Currently a graduating high school senior or a post-secondary student
  • High school or post-secondary grade point average of 2.5 or above unweighted GPA
  • Currently a resident of one of the States comprising the Mid-Eastern Region of Eta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
  • Admitted to or enrolled in an accredited college or university at the time of application. Proof of admission/enrollment must be submitted with this application. Both full-time and part-time students are eligible for nomination.
  • Former or current participants in an Eta Phi Beta sponsored program or organization may receive preference. Applicants may reapply annually.
Scholarship Award Application: Applicants must submit the following information for

scholarship consideration:
  • Completed application form
  • High school and/or any post-secondary school transcripts
  • Two letters of reference from persons who are not relatives of the candidate. The letters should address the suitability of the candidate for the award, nature of the relationship with the candidate and length of time of the relationship. Letters must come from two of the following three:
    • An academic advisor, academic counselor or recent instructor
    • A leader of a church or community service organization with which the applicant is associated.
    • A supervisor at a job or volunteer position, or any personal reference of the applicant's choosing.

Submit all of the above items in a single envelope by June 1st

As of May 2020 the SCHSL has new physical forms.  All girls and boys participating in workouts, practices, and contests at Ridge View High School must have the NEW physical on file with the Ridge View High School Athletic Department.

IMPORTANT Information for Class of 2020!!


The end of the year and Graduation are quickly approaching!  Here are a few things we want to make sure you know:

  1. Your official date of graduation is June 5, 2020
  2. Please make sure that your child checks his/her school email daily. We don't want your child to miss anything regarding schoolwork, graduation requirements, content/credit recovery, scholarships, etc.
  3. All senior grades will be finalized by 4:00 pm on Thursday, May 14, 2020
  4. Any student whose overall grade is below a 60 as of May 6th, can request to enroll in virtual Content Recovery. You will receive a phone call and email from a school counselor if your child needs this program. All work for Content Recovery must be completed by May 14th
  5. After May 14th, seniors who failed a course with a grade between 50-59 and need the course to graduate will be enrolled in Credit Recovery. Credit Recovery is from May 15-21. Please note we can not guarantee every class offered will be available through content or credit recovery.  
  6. All students must pay any remaining fees through Parent Portal and complete the Senior Exit Form by June 5th. in order to receive their diploma.
  7. All students who plan to enroll in a 2 or 4-year college must submit a final transcript through Parchment. Be sure to "Click Hold for Final Grades"!!! Click here for directions. 
  8. If you have not completed your FAFSA, please do so. If not you will MISS OUT on money to pay for college.  Check out the RVHS School Counseling website for FAFSA "How To" videos. 
  9. Email scholarships, award letters, and acceptance letters (& pictures) to Mrs. Buie at kbuie@richland2.org.  You are $8 million away from reaching the $25 million mark!
