Nikia Squire graduated from Ridge View with a Basketball scholarship to Queens University in Charlotte, NC. Now, the sophomore communications major has earned a combined Basketball and Track & Field scholarship after walking on to the track team last spring and becoming an NCAA Division II All-American in the Long Jump for her 7th place finish at the National Championships. Squire's best jump at Nationals was 19' 6.25." Nikia also earned Conference Carolina's Freshman Track Athlete of the Year and Conference Carolina's Field Athlete of the Year. She set five school records and two conference records during her first full season of Track & Field. She was also named All-Region in the NCAA Southeast Regional in four events: the 100 Meter Dash, 200 Meter Dash, 4x100 Meter Relay and the Long Jump. For her efforts on and off the track, she was named Queens University Student-Athlete of the Month for May. Way to go Nikia. The View is proud of YOU!
