The Blazer Battalion Rifle team competed at the Greater Midlands Area League rifle marksmanship competition at Camden Military Academy on Saturday, October 12th against fourteen other schools. Members of team shot from three different positions: prone, kneeling and standing. The team set a new record for the event, and came away with many awards.
The Battalion earned first place trophies for Team Overall, Team Standing, and Team Kneeling. They also earned a second place trophy for Team Prone. The team also earned ten individual medals led by Tatiana LeGrand who earned 1st Place Overall Top Shooter, 1st Place Top Team Shooter, 1st Place Individual Kneeling Position, and 3rd Place Individual Standing Position. Zacori Ross also had a great showing by earning 1st Place Individual Prone Position, 2nd Place Overall Top Shooter, and 2nd Place Individual Kneeling Position. Other award winners were Justin Turrentine (1st Individual Standing Position and 3rd Overall Top Shooter), and Joseph Rivers (2nd Individual Standing Position).
