Last Friday night, the Blazer Rifle Team traveled by bus for four hours to Walhalla High School in the upstate to compete in the 2013 Razorback Shootout Rifle Match. After many hours on the road, they displayed a tenacity at the match that would make any Blazer proud. Overcoming exhaustion from the long trip and without any time to prep or relax, they began shooting in the competition within minutes of their arrival.
The team shot an impressive 1989 total points with 31 direct bullseye shots which placed them in 5th place out of 24 teams. This was their first match of the year, and they beat their highest score from a year ago. The top 3 shooters for the Blazers were ZaCori Ross, Joseph Rivers and Justin Turrentine.
