Ridge View High School was presented with the Palmetto Health Walk for Life Certificate of Achievement by Richland School District Two Interim Superintendent Debra Hamm last night for the school's outstanding fundraising campaign for the 2013 Palmetto Health Walk for Life.
Dent Middle School placed first overall followed by Ridge View and Richland Northeast, who finished in a 2nd place tie out of Richland Two's 39 schools. Dr. Hamm announced that the two high schools finished in a tie because it was to close to call as money from the two schools continue to come in.
A special thank you goes out to Ridge View teachers Josey Strickland and Brooke Bedenbaugh, who organized the Ridge View Walk for Life team and the school's fundraising efforts. The spirited tandem recruited 72 members to participate in the Walk for Life, and had collected $4,326 by the time the Walk for Life took place on October 5th.
