On Thursday, October 17th, the Blazers Volleyball team will be hosting Richland Northeast with the Junior Varsity game starting at 5:30 pm. The ladies will also celebrate our community's military members by hosting the 3rd Annual "Salute to Our Armed Forces" event. All uniformed military members will receive free admission to the match. Those that present a military ID will receive half price admission.There will be raffle/door prizes and proceeds will go The Wounded Warrior Project, which is one of the team's philanthropies this year. Raffle tickets are one ticket for $1, or ten tickets for $5. Both active and retire members of the military will receive a complimentary raffle ticket. Multiple prizes ranging in value from $15 to $50 will be awarded from the following local sponsors: Marco's Pizza, Blue Ginger Asian Bistro, Firehouse Subs, Little Caesar's Pizza, Subway, Family Video, Bobby's House of Pizza, and the Peanut Man.
The last two year's events were a huge success. Last year, Senior Victoria Simpson was surprised with the return of her father from his year-long tour in Afghanistan in a very special "Coming Home" ceremony in 2011. Please help us make this event just as special by inviting all military family and friends, so that we may honor them and express our gratitude for their service.
