Senior Jazmin Goodwin (middle picture below) was selected as our school-wide winner in the Poetry Out Loud competition held on Tuesday, November 19th. Jazmin's recitations of "Passing" by Toi Derricotte and "Solitude" by Ella Wheeler Wilcox were outstanding. Jazmin will go on to compete in the regional competition in January, where she will be up against students from schools all around the Midlands.
Congratulations are also in order for Anel Khasiyetova, who was the runner-up in the competition. The View would also like to thank the efforts of faculty members Mrs. Susanne Liggett and Ms. Robin McCants for sponsoring this competition.
