ACTIVITIES Bulletin: Rifle Team Qualifies For Nationals

This past Saturday, the Blazer Rangers Rifle Team traveled to Lexington, NC for the Brigade Best of the Best Rifle Championship, which was the final qualifying match of the best teams from 276 Army JROTC schools located in a 5-state area. This match was the final qualifer for the All Army Championship located in Anniston, Alabama. Only the top four teams from this 5-state area qualified for the All Army championship in February.

After fighting with dogged determination through some major mental hurdles on the rifle range, the Blazer Rangers finished in 3rd place overall with a final score of 2056 x38 to qualify for this national championship. Here is an explanation of the scoring. An average team score is approximately 1980 points, an excellent score is around 2025 points, a fantastic score is about 2100 points, and a perfect score is 2400 points. The x38 after the score is the number of perfect bulls eyes (x10 ring) that the team shot.

The Blazer Rangers will be working hard over the next couple months in preparation for the All Army Championship, which will consist of the best Army JROTC shooting programs from around the world!
