Blazer Alumni Hughston Armstrong, Class of 2009, was awarded the Southern Conference Moment of the Year for 2013 as voted on by SoCon fans for his spectacular catch made during the Southern Conference Baseball Tournament last May while playing centerfield for The Citadel Bulldogs. Armstrong's catch was part of a double-play to end the Bulldogs 8-6 win over Appalachian State. The victory propelled the Bulldogs into the Southern Conference Championship game.
"A phenomenal feeling to have the whole team come out," said Armstrong, who was lifted up on his teammates' shoulders after the catch. "An adrenaline rush beyond what I could ever expect."
