Lexington Anchor Internship

The Lexington Anchor, an online communications medium and newsletter promoting the healthy development of the Town of Lexington, is actively looking for high school students to intern.  The Publications Intern will be responsible for assisting the Publications Coordinator and Editor In Chief, as well as spreading the name of Lexington Anchor through online mediums such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Wordpress, and Linkedin.  The intern will be responsible for day to day assignments relating to managing and publishing a monthly web-based community newsletter.

Qualifications for this internship include:
  • Progression towards high school diploma, Business Associates or college degree with interest in publication, journalism, writing, photography, history, politics, or related field;
  • Experience with social media sites;
  • Ability to multitask and set goals; self driven work ethic; and
  • Excellent time management, verbal, and written communication skills.
Interns will be expected to work 10-20 hours per week, but this can be negotiated prior to the start date.  This is a competitive volunteer position, but any work-related expenses will be compensated.  Internships are also offered for one semester, but may be renewed based on performance.  The estimated start date will be during January 2014.  To apply, send a cover letter and resume to info@lexingtonanchor.com.
