ACADEMICS Spotlight: HOSA Prepares for State Competition
The Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) are revving up for their 2014 South Carolina State Leadership Conference and Competition, which will take place in North Charleston on March 12-14th. On Sunday's in February and March they come to the school to prepare/study for this enormous event in areas of Forensic Science, Biotechnology, Prepared Speaking, Extemporaneous Writing, Physical Therapy, Sports Medicine, Nutrition, and Creative Problem Solving. Ridge View is known throughout the state and country for their strong HOSA program and have brought home national medals for the past six years. No other South Carolina HOSA program has a comparable record. These students are advised by Diane Melton, Lead Health Science teacher, and Mary Harmon, Work-based Learning Coordinator.
