The Allied Health and BioHealth Magnets' Senior class presented their research projects to members of the community on Thursday, February 27th. As one of the graduation requirements for the Institute for Health Sciences Magnet programs, students must research a topic and carry out an independent experiment. Students' research projects included topics such as psychological effects of injuries to athletes, effects of UV radiation on growth of Escherichia coli, and the effect of color on visual cognitive memory to name a few. Magnet students presented their individual research projects to panels of professionals. These panels consisted of Richland School District Two Superintendent, School Board Members, and district employees; employees of Palemtto Health and Providence Hospitals; physicians and residents from USC School of Medicine's Family Practice; and teachers and administrators at Ridge View High School. Thank you to all that volunteered their time to support our students and congratulations to students on completing this requirement.
