On March 12th-14th, BioHealth and Allied Health Magnet students competed at the State Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) competition. Magnet students competed against other South Carolina students in categories of biotechnology, veteranerian medicine, creative problem solving, extemperaneous poster, forensic science, and prepared speaking. Bria Dantzler won 1st place in Biotechnology. Akire Hoots won 2nd in Creative Problem Solving. Danielle Worrell was named by HOSA Advisors as Outstanding HOSA Member for 2013-2014. Danielle Worrell also received the Barbara James Scholarship from State HOSA for $1,000. Savannah Talledo placed in the top five in prepared speaking. Bria Dantzler and Akire Hoots will be competing at the National HOSA Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida in June.
