Members of the National Art Honor Society and other visual art students toured a local printmaking studio, The Half and Half, and the Columbia Museum of Art on February 27. The Half and Half studio creates silkscreen posters and other products for customers including bands, & Music festivals. Our students were able to walk through the studio while posters were being produced and were able to ask the artists questions. While at the museum, our students looked at many pieces of art, and toured a brand new exhibition, Japan and the Jazz Age, which looks at Japanese fine and decorative art from the 1920's and 1930's when Western influence began impacting this once isolated culture. The art museum is free on Sunday afternoons if you wish to see these great works in person.
