Below is a letter we received from Mrs. Cindy Brown. Her student is enrolled in the Scholars Academy Magnet. We want to say thank you Ms. Brown for we are honored by your words of praise.
"Scholars Academy has provided my son with an environment that encourages academic excellence, leadership, and community service. My son, along with many of his peers, will graduate this year having taken 9 AP classes, as well as a member of the National Honors Society, the Science National Honor Society, and the Beta Club. The curriculum is rigorous and challenging which prepares the students for the work they will confront in college. These students are highly motivated, bright, and have a strong work ethic.
The Scholars program provides many opportunities for the student to explore leadership and community service activities as well. My son participated in various after school events and served as an officer of the Scholars Symposium. Through this he has learned accountability, time management, and the need to think of others.
Aside from the challenging curriculum, service opportunities, and wonderful teachers, the students develop a core group of friends that share the same work ethic and high standards as your student. They attend after school functions together, lead study groups, and in general hold each other accountable for their individual success.
Scholars Academy has been a perfect fit for our son; and we have enjoyed seeing his academic and social growth over these past four years. He is as prepared for college as he can be; and we have the Scholars Academy lead by Nicole Walker and a group of amazing teachers to thank for that. "
