One of our most popular books at this years' Summer Reading Celebration was Getting Away with Murder: The True Story of the Emmett Till Case by Chris Crowe. Students discussed the book and the facts surrounding the case, participated in a role playing simulation, and analyzed a Look magazine article written a month after two men were acquitted of killing Emmett Till. In the afternoon, Dr. Nicholas Cooper-Lewter came to speak to the students on the issue of social injustice. Dr. Cooper-Lewter is a licensed psychotherapist, executive life coach, mental trainer, and sports psychology expert.
