The Scholars Academy Juniors got a surprise visit from the Stinney's family attorney, George Frierson. He came to thank them for all their work on reopening the George Stinney case. Stinney, a 14 year old African American boy, was executed in 1944 for the murder of two white girls. The students have spent the last year studying the case and conducting advocacy work to exonerate his name. You can follow their progress on Twitter @supportstinney. Their presentation is also featured in Columbia Star. To read the article, click on the image.
