On Saturday, November 1st, RVHS hosted the S.C. Junior Classical League workshop. The workshop consisted of Roman Fashion, Roman Arts and Crafts, and Latin Tests on Latin Vocabulary, Roman History, and Greek Mythology, and a Latin Certaman, or quiz bowl. Congratulations to Blazer Grace Justice for placing first in the Roman History Test, and V'Aira Harris placed first in the Latin Derivatives Test and third in the Latin Vocabulary Test. Also, congratulations to Grace Justice and Thomas Drummond for placing 1st in their Certamen, and to our Latin 3 students V'Aira Harris, Jasmine Sampson, Cameron Muller, and Megan Shultz for placing 2nd in their Certamen. V'Aira Harris, who serves as our JCL chapter president, was also elected as the State Secretary of the SCJCL. Congratulations to all of our participating Latin students, and to Dr. Richard Lussier, Ridge View's Latin teacher, for preparing his students and for his efforts in hosting this event.
