The RVHS National Economics Challenge team of Greg Hughes, Nicholas Heiler, Brooke Redmond and Schyler Horton won first place in the state competition held by S.C. Economics at the Darla Moore School of Business on April 11th. The students competed by taking tests on macroeconomic and microeconomic principles, and went head-to-head with Eastside High School to win the state championship. These seniors then took a series of tests on a variety of economic areas to compete to be one of four teams to be invited to New York City to decide a national champion. Whereas they did not receive a trip to NYC, they did place 17th in the nation in this national competition against teams from every state including two from California. Congratulations to our State Championship Economics Challenge Team, and their instructor, Mr. Kurt Stiglbauer!
