The Blazer Cross Country teams traveled to McAlpine Park in Charlotte, NC this past weekend and represented the school magnificently in a field with well over 20 teams from around the southeast region of the country. We had 15 out of 18 runners set seasonal personal records and 11 of 18 athletes ran their overall personal bests. Mya Ray led the Lady Blazers with a time of 24:51 for the 3.1 mile race as she dropped over a minute off her time from her last race. Brandon Jackson broke 18 minutes for the first time to lead the Blazer boys with a time of 17:37. Coach Nick Gladden said, "I am very proud of all of these athletes for pushing their limits this weekend and running some big times!" The team will be back in action today against Dutch Fork, North Central, Aiken and the Providence Athletic Club at 5:30 pm at the Clemson Extension Center across the street from the Village at Sandhills.
