Superintendent's Message

The following is a message from Superintendent Dr. Debbie Hamm to Richland Two Families and Employees:

I'm reaching out to you as we all continue to work through the devastation left by the recent storm. In the face of tragedy, we are seeing our community and school district come together like never before. I can't thank you enough.

While some very difficult days are behind us, please remember more challenges may arise. We all have to be patient as authorities work to ensure the health and safety of our community.

Hopefully, we can return to school on Monday on a two-hour delay. As always, safety is our top priority. The delay allows us to run all bus routes during daylight hours and avoid traffic congestion caused by multiple detours. Chief Communications Officer Libby Roof will be in touch today or Saturday with more information about next week's schedule.

We have Richland Two families who have been hit hard. While the recovery process may be slower than we'd like, we will move forward together and take care of each other. Many thanks to everyone who is pitching in to help neighbors. The resilience of our community is inspiring.

While I am concerned about missing school, I'm comforted by the fact that our students are learning a lot about community, and character, as they participate in recovery efforts. I'm so proud of our students, employees and community for collecting donations, volunteering at shelters and supporting those in need.

Again, thank you Richland Two. Please be safe.
