The S.C. Bar's Young Lawyers Division is currently sponsoring a scholarship competition titled, "My Voice. My Vote." The contest is open to high school seniors in S.C. and encourages students to examine the political issues surrounding the 2016 election as a first-time voter. The winner of the contests will receive a $2,000 scholarship. To enter the contests, students must submit an application and create a 15=second Instagram video answering one of the following questions:
- What is the most important issue for the 2016 presidential candidates to address? Why?
- Should there be a limit on how much money presidential candidates can spend on their campaigns? How much and why?
- Do political ads influence your opinions? How?
- Is voting a right or a privilege? Explain.
Each contestant must post the video to his or her Instagram account using the hashtags #SCBarYLD and #MyVoiceMyVote. Submissions will be accepted through April 18th at 5 pm. Entries will be evaluated on original thought, substantive answers and creative presentation. For more information, click on the image.
