ACADEMICS: 10-Point Grading Scale

In April of 2016, the State Board of Education unanimously voted to implement a 10-point grading scale effective for the 2016-2017 school year across the state for high school credit courses, which will replace the 7-point grading scale. Richland Two will adopt the 10-point grading scale for Grades 2-12. For the senior class of 2016-2017, the quality points scored on the former 7-point grading scale will be averaged with the quality points earned on the 10-point grading scale to determine a student's GPA. The same system will be used for the classes of 2017-2018 and 2018-2019. Freshmen entering high school in 2016-2017 (the class of 2019-2010) will enter under the 10-point grading scale. For more information, visit Richland Two's Parent University page, or view the State Department of Education's website.
