For the second week in a row, our football team will be making history when it steps
onto the gridiron. Last
week, the
first-ever varsity home football game was played on the school’s campus. The
Blazers defeated Ninety-Six High School 68-52. Tonight, the
Blazers will be the first high school football team to play at Spirit
Communications Park, home of the Columbia Fireflies minor league baseball team.
The Blazers are taking on Fairfield-Central High School.
Coach Perry Parks says his
team is ready to play in this new state-of-the- art facility. "This is a
great chance to be the first high school football game played in a minor league
stadium in South Carolina. I think it's a great environment for the kids and a
game they will always remember for the rest of their lives," said Parks. Tickets are $7 each. Parking
is $3. Kick-off is at 7:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity to show our Blazer Pride to all of Columbia. We look forward to seeing you there, so let's saddle up. Go Blazers!
