After meeting with Richland County Sheriff's Department CSI Deputy Humphries, freshmen Institute for Health Sciences students put into practice what they learned by collecting fingerprints, hair samples, blood, shoe prints, and a suspicious white powder from their simulated Anna Garcia crime scene. As small teams of crime scene investigators, the students tested to determine what the white powder contained. They also analyzed the blood type of the sample found on the scene and matched fingerprint minutia to rule out suspects.
