ACADEMICS: IHS Sophomores Become Forensic Anthropologists
Sophomore Institute for Health Sciences students became forensic anthropologists in order to identify the remains of a missing person in a hands-on activity. The students used calipers to take bone measurements to determine the age, gender, ethnicity, and height of the missing person. The students will discover that they do not have enough information to make a positive match to any known missing persons. They will then discover the next steps to identify remains including facial recognition and DNA analysis.
