Blazer Junior Matthew Smith was recently recognized as the 2016 Top Explorer by the Richland County Sheriff's Department. Explorers are fundamentally a Scout group, chartered by the Boy Scouts of America, for young males and females between 14 and 20, who have completed the eighth grade. The explorers program puts young people, who are interested in law enforcement in direct contact with deputies from the Sheriff's Department. Congratulations Matthew!
