Blazer Junior Jared Banks has traveled to Anniston, AL this afternoon to participate in the Army JROTC Service National Air Rifle Championship. Jared has fought hard over the last 5 months to earn a national ranking and a spot in this prestigious event. Jared is one of only 240 marksmen out of nearly 10,000 air rifle competitors world-wide to qualify for this event. Jared will compete today and Saturday for two-and-a-half hours each day trying to maintain focus and mental stamina as he tries to hit the bullseye, which is the size of the period at the end of this sentence 240 times over the course of the competition. Good luck Jared!
