Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals Essay Contest

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit is pleased to announce an essay contest for high school students in grades 9 through 12 in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Students can win cash prizes of $1,000, $1,500 and $2,000. The theme of the contest is "Access to Justice," which asks students to consider and share their thoughts on the question: "What does access to justice mean to you and how do the Constitution and Bill of Rights enable this access?" Essays are limited to 1,000 words and must be emailed to essaycontest@ca4.uscourts.gov by June 16, 2017. For more information and the contest entry form, click on the image.
