Maintaining a perfect
school attendance record would be nearly impossible for most people. Ridge View
High School senior Dasya’ Young isn’t most people. She hasn’t missed a single
day of school in 12 years. The South Carolina Department of Education is
recognizing her for perfect attendance from first through 12th
grade. She is one of only 59 students statewide to achieve perfect attendance, and the only Richland Two student to achieve this honor this school year. To read more about this fabulous accomplishment, click on the image. Congratulations Dasya'!

ACADEMICS: English PBL Raises Funds for ADA
Mrs. Ashley Walker's 3-4th period English 1 Seminar class participated in a student-led project in which they researched difficult journey's after reading The Odyssey. The students proposed ideas for a class-wide project. One student's research on diabetes led the class to work on organizing a low-sugar bake sale to raise money for the American Diabetes Association (ADA). The class raised $105 by selling homemade chocolate truffles and blueberry muffins, and Mr. John Douglas from the ADA visited the class to receive the donation check. While he visited, he informed them that their donation money would be used to pay for two Columbia children to attend the ADA's week-long summer day camp for children with diabetes. Well done Blazers!
