Become a SC Teaching Fellows

The South Carolina Teaching Fellows Program offers the state's brightest and best students the opportunity to participate in enrichment programs, engage in professional development and leadership opportunities, and receive up to a $6,000 fellowship annually for 4 years as long as they are in the process of completing a degree leading to teacher certification, meet the criteria to continue in the program, and agree to teach in a SC public school.

Any student who is a legal resident of SC and a current high school senior, or junior graduating early, who will be attending college as a freshmen in the fall of 2018, may apply.  Fellowships are based on academic achievement, references, community and school involvement, an interview, and a writing assessment.  Students must attend Anderson, Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, Columbia College, Francis Marion, Lander, USC-Aiken, USC-Columbia, USC-Upstate, or Winthrop.

The deadline to complete the online application is December 1, 2017.   A completed application includes answering all mandatory questions on the online application, a high school transcript, and 3 references.  Notification to Fellowship participants will be early Spring 2018.  Click on the image, to check out the short video about the Teaching Fellows Program and the application process.
