On last Thursday, 11.2.2017 Ms. Valarie Coppinger and her Sophomore English class celebrated poetry writing
by learning how to write different kinds of poetry using various styles. There were 5 poetry stations that students had to visit in small groups. The stations included "Blackout" poetry, "Reversal" poems, "Acrostic" poems, "Paint Chip" poetry, and a Roll the Dice poem variation (where poets rolled to see how many lines their poem needed to be and how many words would be on each line). It was a great day and a wonderful way to get students excited about something that normally intimidates them.
