To meet federal regulations, English 1 EOCEP requires a new student writing component in addition to multiple-choice writing items. Students will take the Writing (TDA) portion of their English 1 EOCEP exam on May 16th. The TDA (text dependent analysis) is composed of a reading passage and writing prompt relating to that specific text. The prompt requires that students analyze the text and write an essay to provide supporting evidence from the passage.
Sample TDA passages along with South Carolina student responses, which were scored using the SC EOCEP TDA Scoring Guidelines, are now available online. Please click on the image and go to Test Tutorials to access these questions on the SC State Department of Education. Students can also access EOCEP online training tools on https://wbte.drcedirect.com/SC/portals/sc, which will only work using Google Chrome.
