The South Carolina Collaborative for Race and Reconciliation is excited to announce the launch of the South Carolina Youth Collective (SCYC) Fellows Program. This program, sponsored by the University of South Carolina, is a free four day (three night) workshop for Columbia-area high school students on community building, civil rights history and civics education. It will be June 13th - 16th at the USC-Columbia campus. Two students from each Columbia-area high school, 28 teens in all, will be chosen to attend.
The goal of this program is to raise leaders who will use their considerable energy to improve communities across our state. The application is comprised of a personal statement and a project proposal – there are no GPA requirements. They are looking for students who want to make a difference.
