Monday, June 29th Practices and Tryouts Postponed

Richland School District Two will not be starting Athletic, JROTC, and Marching Band practices, as well as Cheer Tryouts on Monday, June 29.  We will update you when we know exactly when we will be starting.

We are hoping everyone stays safe, encourage everyone to wear a mask, to safely socially distance, and to wash your hands during this challenging time.

We're Closed June 29 - July 3 for Independence Day


We hope everyone is having a safe summer. Ridge View will be closed June 29-July 3 in observance of the 4th of July. We will reopen on Monday, July 6.

2020 YEARBOOKS ARE HERE!!!

Yearbooks will be distributed on Wednesday, June 24Thursday, June 25 from 10 AM - 1 PM and 3 - 5 PM. Yearbooks will ONLY be distributed to students who ordered and paid for the 2020 yearbook. There are no extra yearbooks available to purchase. You must come and pick up your yearbooks on

June 24 & 25 at the times specified as no other additional 
dates or times will be available.

Since students will not be allowed to enter the building, they should park in the D student parking lot near the Auditorium entrance. Yearbooks will be distributed to students from GEAR Up Coordinator, Ms. Williams’, office window. Her window is located on the left side of the building in the D student parking lot. There will be a sign on her window signifying where you should pick up yearbooks. 

Have your picture ID ready to present when picking up your yearbook. If you need to send someone to pick up your yearbook, this person should have a copy of your picture ID and his/her picture ID. The Ridge View Staff will take a picture of your ID as verification that you received your yearbook.

ATHLETICS: Cheer Try Out Information

Tryouts for the 2020-2021 cheer season has been set for June 29, 2020. The cheer packet is available at RidgeViewSports.com by clicking here.   The required sports physical can be found here.  All participants will need a completed sports physical packet (4 pages) plus the district’s COVID-19 waiver that can be found here before trying out. Please remember that all sports physicals must be dated after April 1, 2020. Click here to see the materials that are required to learn for tryouts.

There will be a mandatory virtual cheer parent meeting on July 1 to discuss summer practices, the upcoming season, and to answer any questions regarding the cheer season.  Please plan to attend in the event your child is selected for the 2020-2021 season.

ATHLETICS: New Physical Packets and COVID-19 Waiver

New Sports Physical Packet and COVID-19 WAIVER
The SCHSL has released a NEW physical packet to be able to participate in sports at the high school level.  Packets can be downloaded from RidgeViewSports.com.  Packets must be dated after April 1, 2020 to be able to participate in Ridge View Sports for the 2020-2021 school year.  All student-athletes must complete this COVID-19 Waiver before participation as well.

In an effort to streamline the acceptance of sports physicals, completed physical packets and COVID-19 Waivers should be emailed to the following email addresses:

ACADEMICS: ACT or SAT Testing in the Fall 2020


Do you have a Ridge View 4th Year student? 
Did they not take the school-day ACT test in Fall 2019?

All 4th-year students (“Seniors”) who did not take a school-day administration of either the ACT or the SAT will have an opportunity to take one of these college readiness assessments at no charge. The testing will be taking place in the early fall so the deadline to communicate your test preference to your school’s School Testing Coordinator is Friday, July 10th.


Test Schedule:
  • SAT: Wednesday, September 23rd
  • SAT Makeup: Wednesday, October 28th
  • ACT: Tuesday, October 6th
  • ACT Makeup: Tuesday, October 20th 

To make your preference of the ACT or the SAT known, please click the image and submit the form BEFORE Friday, July 10.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Mrs. Melissa Myers, our School Testing Coordinator, must submit requests for students to receive testing accommodations (e.g. extended time, etc.) with the test vendor.  If you believe your student is eligible and wish for him/her to test with accommodations, please contact her at mmyers@richland2.org by Friday, July 10.

Workouts for Fall Sports in Phase 1 of the SCHSL’s plan are set to begin on June 29. 

Interested participants should contact their head coach (Coach’s Contact Information Here) to begin the sign up process for pods (workout groups).

Participants must have a current physical on file (dated after April 1, 2020).  Physical Packets should be scanned as a PDF into one file and emailed to each of these three email addresses:

ACTIVITIES: Dr. Mack-Foxworth Named Administrator of the Year!!!

Congratulations to our principal, Dr. Mack-Foxworth. She was recognized by the South Carolina Association of Student Councils (SCASC) as Administrator of the Year. In the application, a parent wrote that "she fully supports the initiatives of the students in development of their leadership skills." We are so lucky to have such supportive Principal!! SCASC also recognized some of our Student Activities leaders. Student Body President, Christa Joby, was inducted into the Terry McCoy Leadership Hall of Fame. Heaven Lawson was elected as the SCASC District Four Vice Chair. Ridge View StuCo was named a Gold Honor Council and won project awards in the categories of school spirit and recreational activities, signifying that these projects were among the best in the state this school year.  Click on the image below to hear Student Activities' dedication to Dr. Mack-Foxworth.

$1,000 Scholarship App Due November 1st



The SaplingHR Onboarding Experience Scholarship is an award for any current or soon-to-be undergrad who has a passion for the people operations and HR space. The scholarship has a brief submission process, and applicants will be judged on their ability to convey their idea for useful innovation in mobile device technology.

Students applying must submit an essay explaining your great idea for an onboarding program for new employees of a business and how it would improve their experience. There are no conditions or requirements for this essay. Please keep submissions to 5 paragraphs and 600 words at the absolute maximum. While spelling, punctuation, and general cohesiveness will make your essay easier to read, and therefore judge, you are not being graded. The winning submission will be one that clearly conveys an idea that could make a big difference with information technology relating to mobile devices.
