ATHLETICS: Football Information Night on April 25th

There will be Football Information Night for all current players, interested players, and their parents on Tuesday, April 25th at 6:30 pm in the Main Gym. Information will be presented about Spring Football, Summer Workouts and other important information for the 2017 Football season.

RVHS Library Commons FREE Driver's Education Practice

The Library Commons is pleased to offer the following resource for staff, students, parents and guardians. Driving-Tests.org does not replace the need for hands-on training, but it does give our students and families a place to access manuals and practice tests. This driver education program contains the following state-specific information:

• 11 car practice tests
• 9 motorcycle practice tests
• 12 CDL (commercial driver's license) practice tests
• 3 online driver's manuals (car, motorcycle, CDL)
• A FAQ section with detailed answers to over 100 DMV-related questions

Benedict College Summer Transportation Institute

Benedict College is seeking interested rising 9-11th grade students to participate in the Benedict College Summer Transportation Institute. Some of the tentative activities are a project at the Challenger Learning Center, SAT Prep at Sylvan Learning Center, and field trips to Boeing, SC Ports Authority, Fort Sumter and Patriots Point. A host of guest speakers and entertainment will also be offered. This is a residential program. Students will stay on campus from Sunday evening through Thursday. There will also be evening activities like a movie night, etiquette lessons, etc. There are only 30 slots, so apply as soon as possible. Two Weeks to BlazerFest

The campus of Ridge View High School will soon look more like a fun-filled carnival for children and adults to enjoy. On Saturday, April 29, the Ridge View High School Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) is hosting BlazerFest. This community event, packed with fun, food, and games is from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. There will be bounce houses, a dunking booth, dance competition, live entertainment with D.J. Smooth from KISS 103.1, Taekwondo and more. Bring the whole family. Admission is FREE!

CBCF Spouses Essay Contest

The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) is pleased to present the Spouses Essay Contest for sophomore and junior students. Qualified African-American students are invited to participate in this essay contest. Students are presented with a topic that embodies some of our communities' most pressing issues and are asked to write an essay to defend their research, analyses and opinion. Submissions are judged by a special committee of CBC Spouses. Winners and their families are invited to Washington, DC in September to accept their awards and attend a panel discussion on the topic during the CBCF 47th Annual Legislative Conference. All written essay submissions are due by Friday, April 21, 2017. Click on the image for more information.
