Gabbiee Swainson Scholarship Due Next Friday, May 10th

The Ridge View High School Gabrielle “Gabbiee” Swainson Memorial Scholarship is established to honor former student, Gabbiee Swainson.  She was a member of the BioHealth Magnet Program, a cheerleader, a Student Council member, an active member of Right Direction Church International, and an all-around amazing young lady.  Two $500 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors who exhibited excellence in the areas of Academics, Service and Leadership.   

Application Criteria:

• The scholarship is open to Ridge View High School seniors who will be attending technical colleges, two-year and/or four-year colleges in the fall of 2019.
• All applicants must complete the application form.
• Applicants will be judged on scholastic achievement, overall leadership, service, integrity and community involvement.
• Applications must be accompanied by a 500-word essay written by the applicant.
• The applicant must have achieved at least a 3.0 grade point average.
• The applicant must be nominated and have one reference.

ACTIVITIES: Jostens Returns on Wednesday for Final Delivery

May 8th is the LAST time Jostens will be coming to Ridge View!! They will be in M-141 from 11:30 AM to 1 PM. Students may come during lunch or with a pass from a teacher. In order to receive any items, the the balance must be paid for graduation items and class rings. Visit https://thegraduationcenter.com/ to check your balance. JOSTENS WILL NOT BE RETURNING THIS SCHOOL YEAR! Also, if there was an issue with anything that was delivered in April, students can bring it to be exchanged or repaired. ATHLETICS: Congratulations Jacob Fink, Region 3AAAA All Region Team

Congratulations to junior golfer Jacob Fink who made the Region 3-AAAA All-Region team!  Jacob shot an 82 to complete his top 8 finish in the Region Tournament played at Lancaster Golf Club on Monday, April 29.  Jacob along with teammates Christian Wilson who shot an 88 and Brent Wilson who shot an 89 will represent Blazer Nation in the AAAA Upper State Qualifier at Furman University on Monday, May 6!

ACTIVITIES: RV's Got Talent Winners

Last weekend, several members of the Blazer family hit the stage to showcase their unique talents. Thank you to all of the participants with special love to RV faculty members Mr. Muzonga and Mr. Nuzum!! Congratulations to the winners!! Kyle Baxter came in third, Jonathan Langston came in second, and Cornell Allison was the first place winner!

 There will be a Parent/Cheerleader meeting in the Main Gym for student-athletes chosen as Ridge View Cheerleaders on May 2nd, JV will be meeting at 5pm and Varsity will be meeting at 6pm.
