ATHLETICS: Football Loses Close Game to Nation Ford

The Blazers football team gave their fans a great effort but came up short to visiting Nation Ford High School this past Friday. The Blazers lost by a score of 41-35. The Blazers are now 2-2 on the season during non-conference play. The team will be traveling to South Florence this Thursday for a 7:30 pm kickoff.

Cross Country Flapjack Fundraiser This Saturday

The Cross Country team will be holding a Pancake Fundraiser at Applebee's on Two Notch Road on Saturday, September 26th from 9:00 am to 11:30 am. Tickets are $7 per person. Contact Athletic Director Brian Rosefield at brosefield@richland2.org for tickets or for more information.

This Week in the Blazer College Center

Here is what is going on in the Blazer College Center this week:
  • Tuesday, Sept. 22nd: A Newberry College Representative will be in the College Center from 1:30-2:30 pm.  Please stop by to talk about Majors, Tuition, Scholarship Opportunities, Campus, Class Ratios, Degree Programs etc. Go to D-95 to get a pass!
  • Wednesday, Sept. 23rd: College Shirt Day- Wear your favorite college shirt and stop by D-95 to get your picture taken! Also, a George Mason University representative will be here at 2:00 pm. Sign up in D-95 to get a pass.
  • Thursday, Sept. 24th: A Midlands Tech Representative will be here from 12-2 pm. Get a pass from D-95!

Summer Reading Celebration Set for Wednesday

Our Summer Reading Celebration will be held this Wednesday, September 23rd beginning at 9:30 am. Students are encouraged to bring their Summer Reading books, pens and pencils, paper and chromebooks, which will be used throughout the day during the activities that our faculty & staff have planned for our students. I would also like to remind everyone that regular attendance will be taken that day. Students who wish to donate their book to the school's reading program may give it to their book group leader or bring it to room M-108.

ATHLETICS: Girls Golf Victorious Against Lugoff-Elgin

The Lady Blazer golf team defeated Lugoff-Elgin on Tuesday night as Victoria Wilson and Arin Robertson led the Blazers with the lowest scores. The team was back in action on Thursday, but lost close matches to Irmo and Keenan. The Blazers fell short by one stroke to Irmo and 5 strokes to Keenan. Congratulations to Arin Robertson who had her lowest score of the year. The Blazers next match is on Thursday, September 24th at Windermere against Blythewood and River Bluff. Come on out and support your Blazers!
