The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) is pleased to present the Spouses Essay Contest for sophomore and junior students. Qualified African-American students are invited to participate in this essay contest. Students are presented with a topic that embodies some of our communities' most pressing issues and are asked to write an essay to defend their research, analyses and opinion. Submissions are judged by a special committee of CBC Spouses. Winners and their families are invited to Washington, DC in September to accept their awards and attend a panel discussion on the topic during the CBCF 47th Annual Legislative Conference. ATHLETICS: Boys Golf Team Picks Up First Victory
Congratulations to the boys golf team on their first victory of the season over Wagner-Salley H.S. on April 4th at Indian Trail Golf Course. The boys were victorious by a score of 223-241 and were led by Jacob Fink, who shot a 48. This victory comes on the heels of two tough matches. On March 27th, team fell to Lugoff-Elgin 200 to 236, and on March 29th, the boys lost to Airport 161 and Brookland-Cayce 167 in a match which they shot 221.
