The National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) seeks high school female students to apply for the NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing! The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing honors young women who are active and interested in computing and technology, and encourages them to pursue their passions. Winners get cool prizes, gadgets, and scholarships, and can join a community of like-minded young, technical women.
Eligibility
- Open to high school females (grades 9 - 12) interested in computing
- Applications accepted September 15 - October 31, 2013 by 11:59 PM (ET). Click on image on the right to open application.
- Winners will be selected for their computing and IT aptitude, leadership ability, academic history, and plans for post-secondary education
- Winner will be announced early December 2013
Prizes
National award-winners receive:
- $500 in cash
- A laptop computer
- An engraved award (for both the student and her school)
- An expense-paid trip to the national Award ceremony (for the student and her parent/guardian) on March 15, 2014
