Student-Athlete of the Week Award Winners Recognized at Home Football Games

Ridge View has begun a new tradition by recognizing a Student-Athlete of the Week at our home football games. Here is some information on our last three award winners.

On September 20th, Javarrus Mickle of the Varsity Football team was recognized.  Javarrus finished last school year with a 3.7 GPA.  This summer, he participated in the the NFL Carolina Panthers Leadership Program, and has numerous outstanding character recommendations from his teachers and coaches.

On October 11th, Cleveland Smith of the Varsity Football team was recognized.  With a spring semester GPA of 4.5, this student-athlete demonstrates how academics and athletic participation can go hand in hand. This young man has been a participant in Ridge View football, track, and is a member of the honors/magnet program here at Ridge View.

Our most recent recipient was recognized on October 18th. Benjamin Stogner is completing his 6th season on the Cross Country team here at Ridge View High School. He is in the School for the Arts majoring in Vocal Performance, and has made the South Carolina All-State team each year that he has been eligible.  He has been accepted to Liberty University to study history in order to achieve his goal of someday becoming a history professor.
