In recognition of Domestic Violence Month (October) and in honor of Sistercare, a program for battered women and their children, the Ridge View cheerleaders participated in the Pack, Drive, and Drop Community Service Project, sponsored by the Cheer Boosters and Columbia Skin Clinic. From the moment Mrs. Trina Huggins, RV Cheer Booster Vice President and Medical Receptionist at Columbia Skin Clinic, suggested this opportunity to support our community, the feedback from the the parents and cheerleaders was positive. In support of this project, the RV cheerleaders and parents purchased over 300 personal items, while Columbia Skin Clinic donated over 400 skin and hair items to be packaged for delivery to the Sistercare home office in Cayce. Several of the organization's office staff were there to greet and thank our cheerleaders and booster club officers. Lindsey Willard, office manager, commented, "This show of support for our organization is greatly appreciated. We are thankful that Ridge View took the time to think of us." In turn, our cheerleaders were all grateful for this opportunity to be of service to the community and an organization that supports women and children in need. The Booster Club is thankful for the giving hearts of our cheerleaders and their parents; and they look forward to future opportunities to be of service to others.
