The National Rifle Association Foundation, the country's leading charitable organization in support of the shooting sports, has awarded the JROTC Blazer Rangers Rifle Team an equipment-only grant in the amount of $9,927. This grant will now allow the cadets to move up to compete at the the top levels of three position precision air rifle shooting competitions using more specialized training and competition equipment as recognized by the NCAA. Precision three position rifle competition is a recognized NCAA sport that is very expensive to compete in, so many high schools do not compete at that level. This grant will make it possible for the Blazer Rangers to compete at that level which can help them get recognized by college recruiters opening the door for college scholarships which are only offered for those competing in precision shooting competitions. Congratulations to Major Gene England for successfully applying for this grant.
