Junior Marcus Hutchins spent a week in Washington, DC as a participant in the National Youth Leadership Forum: Careers in Nation Security. Marcus was one of 250 high school students particpating in the program after being nominated by his U.S. History teacher, Paige Fennell. Marcus was exposed to the various career fields in National Security and Foreign Affairs through speakers and hands-on activities to further his knowledge of those professions. The culminating activity was to participate in a drug trade simulation to complete the task of bringing down the most dangerous Latin American cartel. Marcus was pleased to serve as the Administrator of the DEA in this simulation. In addition to interacting with officials from the National Security office, Marcus was able to visit many historical sites located in and around Washington, DC.
