Ridge View's Student Council was recognized by the National Association of Student Councils with the National Gold Council of Excellence Award. In a message to Principal Brenda Mack-Foxworth, Jeff Sherrill, Associate Director of the NASC, wrote "This was no small task and their success in earning the award is a testament to the leadership and support you give to them, and to the value placed on student council as an integral part of your school and its educational mission."
